Behind The Lens

Location

Altarnun near bodmin moor, Cornwall UK

Time

I think it was about 1pm in the afternoon on a fairly dull day.

Lighting

just a dull day with natural lighting

Equipment

nikon d70 with modification of infra red filter

Inspiration

Stone and trees come out so well in IR, and this is the church featured in the book, Jamaica Inn by Daphne Du Maurier. The book has an air of brooding mystery and the building has an air of the same in IR that you may not see in normal light.

Editing

my camera is set to take jpegs and the processing done in camera is "normal" or as natural as possible.

In my camera bag

I am disabled and cannot carry much weight, so I will often take just the camera and a sigma 28-80 macro or a Nikor 70-300 zoom. if I have a friend along who can carry my stuff for me then I also take a tripod and a second camera Nikon d 7200 and a tamron 17-300 zoom and a few bits such as a mirror sphere and a crystal ball lens.I also take a prime lens .

Feedback

Before I became ill I used to take my camera bag every where with me, I worked with horses so was outside a lot and by always having it with me managed to get some shots I would have missed otherwise. like when a sparrow hawk came a perched on the tractor trailer in the stable yard. So my tip would be, never be without a camera.
