This waterfall needs no introduction as it is one of the most photographed features in all of Iceland. Majestic and picturesque, it is one of the country's most famous and visited falls due to the waterfall’s close proximity to the Ring Road and impressive natural features.
The waterfall drops 60 m (197 ft) and is part of the Seljalands River that has its origin in the volcano glacier Eyjafjallajökull. Visitors can walk behind the falls into a small cave.
This image is a panorama of 8 images resulting in final 210 MP image in size. It is very difficult to take pictures from behind the falls as the water drops and mist constantly fall on the camera lens and you need to keep cleaning the lens every now and then, not to mention the amount of crowd that passes every second on this narrow passage behind the falls. I had to remove many people from the final panorama image in post-process in order to get a clean image.
