Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was taken during an excursion in the surroundings of a town called Garganta la Olla in Extremadura

Time

It was late in the morning. We had stayed in a nearby town and this place, which I had already visited in my childhood, was on the way.

Lighting

It is a place with enough vegetation except for a clearing on the right. at the time of the photograph the sun was at its zenith over the tops of the trees making the light very scattered.

Equipment

This shot was made with a canon 1300D and a 55-250 lens to reduce the field and get closer to the waterfall. For the necessary exposure for the silk effect I had to use a tripod.

Inspiration

I remembered this place well and it brought back very good memories, its stillness and the permanent movement of the water, so every time I came across an image in which the water takes the silk effect, I imagined it in this place.

Editing

Sharpness, contrast and shadow adjustments

In my camera bag

My bag has changed since I took this shot but there is always a wide angle and a telephoto lens in addition to the tripod

Feedback

Be patient, wait for the light to adjust to your needs and be careful where you put your feet and equipment, slips on wet and mossy rocks can ruin everything.
