Location
This photo was taken in my home makeshift photography studio in Heilwood, Pennsylvania. I am a self taught photographer so every photo shoot is an opportunity for growth.Time
Dusk and dawn are my favorite time to shoot for landscape and nature photography. But for portrait, anytime of the day if done in the studio. I just see to it that the lights are controlled to the desired outcome of the photo. I took this photo on March 15, 2018 at 7:45am.Lighting
In this photo, I used a soft box and placed it at the quarter upper front of the subject to highlight the face. I used black cloth as a background. I placed another soft box directly in front of the subject at eye level to pop up those expressive eyes. Thus, even just those expressions on the face and expressive eyes are already a story telling that will catch the viewers' interest to discover more about your subject.Equipment
I used a Canon Eos Rebel T6 camera with the Canon 100mm Macro lens. I didn't use a flash. I used a sturdy tripod to prevent any shakes and a wireless shutter button.Inspiration
I was fascinated to look at those stunning portrait photos in ViewBug.com. I was inspired by them and I tried to take my own and the result was rewarding.Editing
I process this photo in Luminar 4. This app is very user friendly and makes my post processing easy and time saving yet the end product is professional and elegant in look. In nature and landscape photos, Lightroom Classic is my favorite. In my camera bag
I usually pack in my bag first my Canon 75-300mm and 18-55mm kit lenses for my nature and landscape photos. I then pack my Canon 100mm Macro lens, my ND filters and, of course, my Canon Eos Rebel T6 which is my only available DSLR camera for the moment.Feedback
Diversified, be open, and be patient. Photography is like the skill of swimming. You can study the technicalities and have knowledge on it. But you can only learn how to swim by actually swimming. One becomes a photographer by actually photographing. Go out and shoot. But don't forget to enjoy the process. The happiness to see your shot of a lifetime.
