This photo was taken in my photo studio in Odijk (Netherlands)Time
This photo was taking in the early afternoon. In my studio it doesn't matter what time I take the photos because I set the light the way I want too. The early afternoon was perfect because the pups could run around and get ride of some puppy energie ;-)Lighting
My photos are often recognized because of the way I use the light. I love to shape the light like an old painting. I like it soft and warm but always just the right amount light on the subject which are always dogs. With dogs I don't like to shoot many photos for the simple reason I don't want them to be exposed to all the big flashes. I flash as little as possible so the pups are comfortable.Equipment
I use my Canon 5D mark 4 with my Canon 24-70 lens. I always work with Elinchrom lighting.Inspiration
This photo is a client shoot and when they brought me there adorable puppy's my heart melted and I could see this image before my eyes before I started shooting. I worked out amazing!Editing
I use the basis post processing with Camera Raw and photoshop. I like to shoot in frame so I don't need cropping. A little straighten will happen. Especially with pups because they are so fast and a lot of time I have the photo not completly straight.In my camera bag
When I do studio shooting I have my lights set up in the studio so I only need to bring my camera, lens en remote to trigger the lights.Feedback
Have a lot of patience and never force dogs to do anything you like but they don't like. I also recommend not the shot many photos because I don't like them to be exposed to the big flash too much. When you shoot, shoot with you whole heart and enjoy it to the max! It will show in the photos!
