I always enjoy photographing Mt. Fuji. At the end of the day, the clouds actually hid the top of Mt. Fuji, but I decided to wait as long as I could, and after a few minutes, the clouds had rolled by and I ended up with this shot.

Location
I took this photograph near the hotel I was staying at, which had a lakeside view of Mt. Fuji. I had spent all morning traveling from Tokyo to Mt. Fuji, so when I arrived at Lake Yamanaka, I decided to photograph Mt. Fuji as much as possible from as many locations as possible. After a few hours, it was starting to get dark as sunset was approaching. As I reached the hotel I was staying at, I noticed the glow of the setting sun and so I decided to to take some more photos. The spot I was at is a popular one for photographing Mt. Fuji, but there were few people left because it was getting dark.Time
The photograph was taken in the evening. I had never seen Mt. Fuji this way before, and since I liked the light of the setting sun behind Mt. Fuji, I decided to try and photograph what I could before Mt. Fuji was just a silhouette. The problem was, clouds had covered most of the mountain. I was about to give up when I noticed that the clouds were moving away, and so I decided to wait as long as I could, hoping that I would get a clear shot. After waiting for several minutes, the clouds had moved away, and I was able to get several shots while there was still some detail in the mountain. This photograph is the one I like best.Lighting
This was all done with the natural light of the setting sun and the available light.Equipment
My memory cards were all full from photographing earlier in the day, so I only had my iPhone 6 Plus available to take this photograph.Inspiration
I enjoy photographing Mt. Fuji, and am always looking for new ways to photograph Mt. Fuji. Photographing Mt. Fuji in the evening was a new experience for me, but a rewarding one.Editing
No post processing was done, except for cropping the photograph. In my camera bag
I like to travel light so I usually just bring my Nikon D800 with the Nikon 28-300 AF-S zoom.Feedback
Try to photograph the same subject in as many ways as possible. Be aware of the lighting and be prepared to be patient. And of course, take a lot of photographs, and sometimes hope for a “lucky shot.” Happy photographing!
