This was a waterfall in State Game Lands Pennsylvania

Lighting

The light here was nice ambient natural light. There was only a small opening in the canopy of the trees above us to allow in bright directional ambient light.

Inspiration

I was actually hosting a photography workshop. I took this while teaching others how I would frame and capture this scene with the model.

Editing

Post Processing in Photoshop. Minor Retouching with Frequency Separation, Converted to Black and White with adjustment layer, Highlights and shadows adjusted, and Matte look created with Curves adjustment layer.

Feedback

Look for soft ambient light that is directional so you can place your subject in a way that provides the contrast of Light and Shadow.
