Behind The Lens

Location
This photo was taken in my studio
Time
The time of day was not a factor as this was indoors in a windowless room
Lighting
Lighting for this was very simple. I used 1 studio strobe with a 36 inch Octobox. The model was laying flat on a table with the Strobe just past her head pointing down her body at roughly 45 degrees
Equipment
This was shot with a Nikon D7000, 28-105 Nikon lens, Interfit EXD400 strobe, and 36 inch Octobox without the grid.
Inspiration
This was my 1st attempt at bodyscapes and also the water droplet affect. I actually did see this on SmokinStrobes and thought I would love to try it. I love the dynamic lighting and the different textures that you get between the skin and the water droplets
Editing
Basic adjustments in Photoshop and Lightroom. Crop, contrast, clarity, etc.
In my camera bag
I currently carry a Nikon D750 body as my primary and a D7100 as my backup body. I carry an assortment of fast prime lenses. I usually carry a godox style bare bulb flash system and a couple modifiers, and a large collapsible reflector. I also carry a few accessories like an ExpoDisc 2 for White Balance and cleaning supplies.
Feedback
Trial and error.... I probably shot 75 - 100 shots playing with Lighting angle and output, shutter and aperture. Shooting with a small aperture ended up giving the best results giving a depth of field large enough that everything was in focus even shooting long ways down the model's torso. As for the water droplets. Baby Oil on a paper towel, you don't want the model to be greasy just a very light sheen from the oil and then a spray bottle with water lightly sprayed until you get good droplets formed.
