Location
This shot was taken on a late winter day in Hamburg, Germany.Time
I took this shot on a later afternoon, it was a rather cloudy and cold day in Hamburg, actually perfect for a shot like this.Lighting
It was cloudy, but the sun kept breaking thru the clouds now and then. That when I decided to take a long exposure shot.Equipment
I used my Nikon D610 with a 16-35 wide angle lens on a tripod. Additionally with a big stopper grey filter and a graduated ND filter.Inspiration
I heard about this spot, so when I was on a business trip in Hamburg, I decided to visit this location. It's the perfect place to take this shot, but the problem is that you are standing on a bridge that's not only used for car traffic, but also for trains. It took me numerous tries to get the perfect shot, because every time a train passed over, the shaking was to extrem for a long exposure.Editing
Just the basic LR adjustment and then the B&W conversion in Silver Efex Pro 2.In my camera bag
I was a Nikon full frame user, but I got tired of carrying all that weight around. So for months I was looking for the right system for me, and at the end Olympus was the right fit for me. Now I have the OMD-EM1 Mark II and the PRO lenses 7-14 2,8, 12-40 2,8 and 40-150 2,8 In addition a manfrotto tripod, polarizer, ND and ND Grad filters.Feedback
Planing your trip is very essential, there is nothing worse then having to look for the best spot and you run out of time, because the light you were hoping for, has vanished.
