Location
This photo was taken innLa Rhune, one of the highest point of the French Basque Country. I've been living there for three years and this mountain is one of my favourite with a 360 degrees view on the ocean and Pyrenean mountains. At this point you can see the sun rising behind Pyreneans Mountains, and going down in the ocean.Time
I woke up so early to reach the car park at the bottom of the hiking trail. I started walking in a cold December night maybe around 4 AM. I reached the top one hour and half later, just in time to see a wonderful sunrise (and warm up !!).Lighting
To my opinion, sunrises and sunsets are the best moments to catch a nice light. This allows you to have several atmospheres and colors in one shot. Clouds are very important to reflect sun's light. I prefer smooth lights on sunrises or sunsets than bright lights without clouds in the middle of the day. This pic is taken really early so as you can see, the left side seems still in the night while the right side is under the sun. Two athmospheres, one shot.Equipment
This time, i simply used a GoPro Hero 5 Black (which is giving the "rounded earth" effect) and a FeiyuTech Tripod. Nothing else. Sometime simplicity is our best ally !Inspiration
I really wanted to catch two athmospheres in a single shot. The cold of the night and the warm of the sun. I've been inspired a lot by Markus Ranalter (àmarkusranalter on Instagram). His pictures are amazing and he always manage to get beautiful lights with blue/orange tones.Editing
I used Lightroom for Mobile just to edit the .jpg file. I simply increased shadows, luminance and saturation of Blue and Red colours. I'm not a genius in post-processing so I only did simple stuff !In my camera bag
I'm never withour a GoPro and some mounts ! I also bring a Panasonic G7 + 14-42mm lens, very simple but for my kind of use it's enough. If weather conditions are good, I bring up my Mavic Air drone to capture some aerial content. I also try to bring up tripods and Gimbals if i do videos.Feedback
Stay simple, try things and see what happen. Find inspiration on influencer's accounts, explore your local country and try many places, go out with your camera as much as possible ! And share your stories in order to get some advices, points of views, ideas to make your shot better..
