This is my favourite tree. Let’s compare it to the Wanaka tree shall we? Can you get gorgeous skies behind it...yes. Is there a mountain range behind it...no but there’s a nifty volcano. Does it have leaves...no, but to make it sound more interesting we’ll call it a ‘naked tree’. Are there 40 other photographers to compete with to get a shot of this one...definitely not!
So there you have it...it’s a tie! So why is one so famous and the other barely known?
Yes this is obviously very tongue in cheek and I do get the charm of the famous tree. I do however often wonder why, in a country like New Zealand so packed full of intense beauty, I see the same frames over and over again.
