This photo was taken at Yellowstone's Grand Canyon, I honestly didnt know it had this waterfall. Since I'm a waterfall lover I was thrilled to find it here. There was a tour bus ahead of me so I had to wait for people to get done doing selfies before I could shoot but it was well worth it.Time
It was early afternoon around 2:00. On a road trip you are where you are when you get there, so you have to make do with what conditions you have.Lighting
Like I said, on a road trip conditions are what they are. It was overcast but the sun broke through on occasion. I liked how the snow lit it up from the bottom and the little bit of sun light at the top evened it out.Equipment
I had my 35mm Nikon with me and I took a few with it, I found it was easier just to use my cell phone. I had less to try and keep my mind on while fighting my vertigo, I'm glad it wasnt as bad that day. I stood on the rock wall barrier to get above some tree limbs and no, there was no drop off on the other side.Inspiration
Waterfalls are my favorite to shoot, with old barns, the beach and architecture right behind and macro flowers. Lol The pure power of the water, the flow, something about the snow right there adding it's part to all that it is. I love all the greens and the browns and the white, it kind of makes your eyes flow around the picture in a big wave.Editing
There was very little post-processing. I changed the lighting just a little because it was a bit dark from all the shadows but other than that, not much.In my camera bag
I usually have my Nikon D610 with my standby 28mm-300 F3.5-6.3 . Then I have my 55-300mm 1:4.5-5.6. I also have a beast that I just got, it's a SP 150-600mm F5-6.3. And my tripod. And I always have my cell phone that I can pull out if I have no time and see something I just have to take a picture of. Lol I actually have a lot of spare of the moments that I quite like as well as my 35mm photos.Feedback
Take a lot of pictures from different angles and from different locations. Sometimes a few feet or a few minutes can make a world of difference in a photo. Be patient. My favorite has always been, editing and cropping, you can take a photo that is kind of so so and with a few changes make it so much better.
