This photo was taken at one of my favourite photo sites. It's in Montijo, Portugal (near Lisbon). It's a fabulous place for photographers because it has it all, landscape, bugs for macro, water, flamingos, etc.Time
Great day this was. I woke up 5 A.M. to get the sunrise at the spot. While I was driving there, a thick mist started rising from the fields around and I almost got back. I'm glad I didn´t, because it was that thick mist that allowed me this beautiful photo by giving it all this yellow aura. And the light was perfect too.Lighting
The basics. Get up early and get those first beams of sun. It's the best lighting you will get.Equipment
For this photo I used a Canon 5D MkII body and a Canon 24-105mm F4.Inspiration
As I said, I take lots of photos at this site, but on this day it was the effect of the mist in the light and in the water.Editing
I used Photoshop but with an "old-school" approach. I only apply, if necessary, Levels, Contrast and Brightness. In my camera bag
My problem number one. As I like different types of photo, I always end up with a lot of lenses in my bag. Normally I carry a Canon 5D MkII body and the following lenses: Canon 24-105, Sigma 12-24, Canon 50, Canon 70-200, Canon MP-E 65. Also a Velbon Tripod, a Velbon Monopod and two Canon Flashes, the 580ExII and the Macro Ring MR-14EX. And lots of smaller stuff... lolFeedback
If you shoot outdoors, get up early and get the first sunlight. No Photoshop beats that.
