Getty the Great Grey Owl is only 9 weeks old.
Two Great Grey Owls were brought to the Canadian Raptor Conservancy as each other had lost an eye from someone or something. They were put together as they thought to be boys ... low and behold ... one was a girl and they only found that out when they came in and found an egg in their cage.
Great Grey Owls do not build nests, so typically they use nests previously used by another large bird. They have excellent hearing, and may locate and then capture prey moving beneath 2 feet of snow in a series of tunnels. They almost fully rely upon small rodents, with voles being their most important food source.

Look at those eyes!! He heard you mention voles lol. Would love one here for a winter feast. We have many that move in from the golf course to our lawn each winter.
