When the herds arrive in the Ngorongoro Highlands to calve they actually never stop moving. Feeding on the short calcium rich grass of the highlands and drinking in the Naabi flats means a daily trek as well. This is the season of plenty for the predators of the area. Active hunting is not truly needed. They often get by on either eating the after birth or finding those newly born calves. Just by walking through the herds.
