We backpacked about a third of our body weight, scaling switchbacks and rock walls at an almost constant incline. At about mile 4, we hit the Alpine zone, where the weather changed drastically as sweat poured down our backs, and a touch of delirium started to kick in from exerting so much energy as we carefully rationed our hydration packs. We made it to the summit in about 3.5 hours.
