I woke up around 5:15, saw a fiery sky outside my window and quickly grabbed my camera. Threw on a flannel and boots, and ran down to the ponds, while my footsteps squeaked behind me through the mucky field. I sat down there for a good hour or so, watching the sky dissipate into a clear blue. The barn swallows swung low as time proceeded, as I watched their faint orange under belly swoop past my face. It was a beautiful start to my adventurous day!
