A Western Reef Egret Perfect Reflection scanning for prey during dawn at shores of Arabian Sea in Bahrain. The white background was achieved by over exposing the image intentionally at time of shoot , water with bright sun made it look like a milk. A milky white bird with a reflection in milk!! The image gives an illusion of pair of leg and 2 bodies.

Behind The Lens

Location

The Photo was taken in muharaq in Bahrain closer to Bahrain International Airport. There is park which has back waters of Arabian Sea where in Wading birds do come during the winter.

Time

This is probably one of my best images which gave me confidence that I can take good pictures. It was during a winter morning on 29th Dec 2017 , woke up early and reached the Muharraq park before 6 am. The image was taken at 6.50 am during early sun rise.

Lighting

It was winter cold morning bit of mist in air and sun was shining on water, It an early morning living this image was taken, given the white bird and bright light I had intentionally over exposed to get a highly image

Equipment

I have used Nikon D500 camera and Tamaron 150-600mm G2 Lense

Inspiration

Given the white bird and beautiful lighting, I had a plan and was inspired to take a high key image which was the resultant ant image and water with perfect lighting acted like a mirror.

Editing

I have done basic post processing of enhancing shadows and reducing highlights and did bit under expose to get the details.

In my camera bag

I normally have Nikon 850 & D 500 cameras. In addition I have 300 PF F 4 lense and nikkor 200-500 mm lense. As I mostly shoot wildlife . I am comfortable with the combination.

Feedback

My advise is when ever u have subject with lots of white over expose to get nice images as camera tries to make images grey when exposed perfectly.
