Behind The Lens

Location

My son's favorite things... basketball and his dogs. I walked in on this scene and just had to get out my camera.

Time

This was mid-morning. The dogs were napping like this and I was lucky enough to notice.

Lighting

The lighting is all natural light from the living room window. Mother nature was being kind to me that morning

Equipment

Canon 80D, kit zoom lens, handheld, no flash.

Inspiration

I love my son and I love our dogs. If I could share one photos to show the world the things my son loves the most, this would be it.

Editing

I had very little to adjust with this photo. I made small adjustments to exposure and contrast. This was one of those spontaneous moments where the subjects, lighting, composition, were all in place before I even walked in the room and discovered this scene.

In my camera bag

Canon 80D, kit lenses plus a wide angle and a nifty 50. I always use my WANDRD PRVKE 21 bag, it is the best bag I have ever used by far.

Feedback

Keep your camera close at hand. Many of my favorite photos are scenes I was lucky enough to capture because I had my camera with me. I am a businessman and I traded my usual briefcase for a WANDRD backpack/camera bag. I carry my work gear and my camera gear in the same bag and that has enabled me to have my camera when I need it most. Even when I go for a motorcycle ride, my WANDRD bag is on my back, loaded with my favorite camera gear. If I see something beautiful, I pause and take a photo. This has also helped me appreciate the beauty around me in ways I never have before.
