An international company called for photographs of "fruit" as their theme their 2019 calendar. I wanted to present something a bit different and took a series of photographs of fruit dropped into a tank of water in this case two strawberries. It was a lot of fun and took about 20 attempts to get the timing right.

I've submitted photos for the calendar for the past 4 years. Subjects have been texture, curves, birds and this time fruit. This time the photo got in and is in the 2019 calendar in March. The Company requests its subsidiaries around the world to submit 10 photographs each and 12 are picked from a pool of about 150 photographs.

Location
This photograph was taken in my garage at home. I have a large workbench on which I placed a small "Terrarium" tank filled with water to drop fruit from above the tank.Time
It was during the day with the garage door closed so there wasn't any natural lightLighting
I have both a LED Ring Light for my Macro lens and a LED Panel plus a Florescent light on the garage ceiling and above the workbench. As the lighting was mixed I used Auto Colour Balance which took care of the different light sources. The predominant light was from the LED's. The Panel and Ring Light were placed on either side of the tank.Equipment
I used my Canon 5D MK IV with a Canon EOS 100 mm L Macro F/2.8 IS USM mounted on a Manfrotto tripod close enough to the tank to fill the frame but far enough not to get splashed. I used a remote release to give me the reach to drop fruit from about 8" above the tank while I released the shutter using the remote.Inspiration
I was commissioned to create a photograph to be used on a companies calendar, the theme being "fruit". Every subsidiary around the world was tasked to submit ten photographs each from which twelve were selected for the calendar, my photograph was selected and used for March. My inspiration came from an article and video I watched about photographing fruit and other objects being dropped into water.Editing
I cropped the image to remove the edges of the tank and applied a preset that gave the photograph a bit more brightness and clarity. In my camera bag
I usually have my Canon 5D Mk IV with a Tamron SP 24-70 mm f/2.8 Di VC USD G2 mounted on it and carry a Canon EF 70-200 mm f/2.8 IS USM with 1.4 x Teleconverter and a Tamron 15-35 mm f/2.8 Di VC USD. I have a Canon 50 mm f/1.8 a Tamron 35 mm f/1.8 and my Canon 100 mm Macro F/2.8 L IS USM and a Canon 300 mm L F/4 IS USM Prime. I also own a EOS M50 an EF to EF-M Adapter and a Focal Reducer with two lens the 18-150 f/3.5-6.3 mm IS STM & 15-45 mm F/3.5 -6.3 IS STM. I carry this around in its own bag. All my EF lens work perfectly using the adapter and the focal reducer. It's a great camera for street photographyFeedback
Be patient and try different fruit, if fruit is what you wish to capture. I took several photographs until I got a photograph I felt was good enough to use for the Calendar. Good lighting is essential as you will need a fast shutter and may need to bump up your ISO. My tank was about 10" x 6" x 10" deep. A remote release is essential as is a tripod. You could get someone to help drop the fruit but I found dropping the fruit and releasing the shutter was quite easy. I lit the tank from both sides and slightly away from the camera.
