Mount Cook. After having a successful time there on our last visit, l am so keen to get back (hopefully one day).
Being from Melbourne, Australia, it’s a different kind of landscape out here. We just don’t have these kind of lakes anywhere in Australia.
Our first visit to Lake Tasman was afternoon then decided to go back there for sunrise. Making our way to the car park, grabbing our gear from the car we made our way along the track walking and running in the dark.
The sun had started to rise by then and the sunrise was looking good indeed , just our luck and witnessing some beautiful light indeed. Tasman Lake is a proglacial lake formed by the recent retreat of the Tasman Glacier. Tasman Lake, the glacier and the surrounding mountains are part of Aoraki - Mt Cook National Park. Tasman Lake is only a 15 minute walk from the car park.
