Location
I took this photo in Lakes Aquarium - WindermereTime
This was taken on April 05, 2014 at 14:07Lighting
These ducks were swimming in a corner and it was a bit dark. There were no bright surfaces nearby to reflect in the water apart from a couple of flood lights perfectly positioned making it look like a studio lit scene.Equipment
This was shot on a Canon EOS 60D (EF-S 18-135mm f/3.5-5.6 IS STM Lens).Inspiration
It was the first time I saw a Mandarin duck.Editing
I used Photoshop to get rid of some dull reflections on the edges, a flood light on the top right and reduced the highlights as the whites were a bit blown out.In my camera bag
I usually carry my Canon EOS 60D with 18-135mm lens, an extra battery, a light weight tripod, remote and variable ND filter.Feedback
If you ever happen to be in Lake District, Lakes Aquarium is a place worth visiting. It is the one of the most visited paying tourist attraction in Cumbria.
