Hi Bazz, well luck was with me, it feels really great to win something with one of my shots. Cheers, Oh what was the prise?

This is a truly great photo, Sir! Coming across transient people, ill-clad, homeless vagrants without food or any means of subsistence creates a sombre feeling. The antithesis of the privileged and destitute is depicted starkly in this image and makes it a worthy winner.

Location
I took this photo in August 2016 in London on a camera club outing to shoot London streets.Time
This was taken at 13.01 at a time when the office workers are out and about for Lunch.Lighting
Fortunately, it was a bright but overcast day so no strong shadowsEquipment
I used a Nikon D750 with a Nikon 28 - 300 mm lens set at 28mm. other setting f10, s1/250, ISO 4000 a tad high, matrix metering mode, hand held without a flash.Inspiration
I saw the street beggar and the way he was being ignored so waited only a short while for the walker to get into frame. For me, it made an interesting image telling the story of how the beggar who was very visible became invisible to those walking by.Editing
He had a yellow bag which tended to stand out so I converted to B&W, cropped and cleaned the image of some rubbish. In my camera bag
I often have grads, polariser with a big and small stopper, but not on this occasion. plus a couple of lenses sigma 10 - 20 and a Sigma 105 mm macro. Also, have a Sigma 150-600 for wildlife.Feedback
These shots are often taken without the knowledge of the people involved so its good to have your camera setup beforehand to obtain the correct exposure etc. as you will probably only get one chance, I was close so got lucky I could have waited quite a while for the right people to pass. I recall a shot I missed of a nun looking into the window of a lingerie shop as I was unready. If shooting from the hip use a wide angle, your best chance of capturing the scene.
