Location
This photo was taken of my home aquarium.Time
I do not recall the time of day, but it wouldn't have mattered much. The aquarium was in a darker room of the house so either day or night, with the aquarium light on, probably would have been similar conditions.Lighting
The aquarium lighting was sufficient for this shot.Equipment
I used a Nikon D40x with standard lensInspiration
The underside of the starfish is quite fascinating so I tried to capture while he was right on the front glass.Editing
I did enhance the color, but only a little bit. I didn't even use Photoshop with this one, I just used ViewBug editing tools. It didn't need much.In my camera bag
As an amateur with little money, I only have the camera body with standard lens and I do have an inexpensive macro/fish eye lens I play with occasionally. Saving up for a good zoom lens.Feedback
For this photo, I got lucky that the subject was in a good spot. The aquarium had a blue background and the aquarium lighting itself allowed me to get a great shot using the automatic setting on the camera with no flash.
