Behind The Lens

Location

This shot was done near our small craft harbor, 1 Jan. 04 and it was 35 degrees with a slight breeze. I'm so glad I had a fast shutter speed.

Time

Probably about 5:30am

Lighting

We have truly great sunrises and sunsets down here on the coast of Mississippi. I love living here.

Equipment

NIKON D1X, Lens 24.0-120.0 mm f/3.5-5.6, Exposure 1/125 sec; f/13; ISO 125 no tripod or flash.

Inspiration

I went there to shoot the sunrise. The sailboat was just a bonus. I have another shot with a Seagull in it. As I said we have some truly beautiful sunrises and sunsets.

Editing

Very little if any on this one.

In my camera bag

Nikon 7000 and D200, Lenses 80 - 400, 18 - 105, 135 Macro and an 18 - 70 1 or 2 Nikon flash units, a monopod and tripod. Sometimes I will go out with just the 7000 with the 80 - 400 and 18 - 105.

Feedback

Patience! and lots of it.
