The US Red Wolf is near extinction. There are approx. 40 - 50 in the wild mountains of North Carolina. There are approx. 200 in zoos and aquariums with attempts to save and preserve them from extinction. I was blessed to see two adults with four puppies at ZooTampa Lowry Park Zoo, Tampa, Fl. This is one of the adult parents. just a beautiful animal and they do not harm humans. They are afraid of humans so if you see one, please do no harm to it. Let the species live.
