The Next Step

This photo means a lot to me for many reasons. It may not be my best photo, but it’s really how I ended up being able to take this photo.

I’ve been an accountant for 9 years, over 4 as a CPA. I never was able to shoot the rhododendrons in spring on the coast, or capture some of the best weather and color my local area has to offer.

But just this last month I called it quits at my accounting job. The weight of doing constant work that wasn’t as enjoyable anymore, and the negativity that creeps its way into all aspects of my life was taking its toll. With huge thanks to my wife, mom, and family there’s an opportunity ahead to lay the roots for my photography business to excel. And what better picture than an endless scene of wheat fields in the early morning hours of the Palouse.

This scene represents new adventures, I had no destination until a friend said he’s flying into the United States and to meet him in the morning. Hence a four day photography trip ensued.

This was a perfect start to a new adventure.
