Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was taken at a Zoo park in Bangalore, India.

Time

This was my second visit to the Zoo park, with my friends. It rained a bit that day, and the sunlight was soft. While walking in the Zoo park, on the side I see these cosmos flowers with grab your attention at glance with their pretty color. This particular flower was a tiny one, and standing out from the rest. This photo was taken about 2.00PM

Lighting

It was a rainy day and the clouds have become my soft box at mid day. All I had to do was frame my camera such a way that, from the very first glance user will see the flower directly. And the soft Bokeh around it was achieved using 70-300mm lens at 300mm. I had edited the picture to saturate some colors for crispiness.

Equipment

This was shot on a Nikon D-5200 with 70-300mm lens. There was enough ambient light, So I didn't have to use external light source.

Inspiration

Bokeh Shots are always my favorites. It brings out the subject to the viewer immediately. So having a lens which can give soft bokeh, I had to take this photo.

Editing

Yes, I do post processing, I use Snapseed as I do most of the post processing on my mobile. I have auto corrected the white balance, and bumped up the saturation.

In my camera bag

I have a 50mm prime, 18-55mm kit lens, and 70-300mm lens. Apart from that, I always carry Lens cleaner and a soft cloth. Extra memory cards and battery.

Feedback

My philosophy about photography is take the picture how ever you like to see. I meant viewers are looking through your eyes. And Always frame before taking the shot. Try out multiple framings till you feel yes this looks great.
