Location
I took this photo, through the glass at Werribee Open Range Zoo, Melbourne Australia.Time
11:27am on the 17/07/2017Lighting
It's one of my favourite photos, With great lighting and the perfect front on shot. I even have a block picture of it hanging in my bedroom.Equipment
Nikon D3300, with a Nikon AF-P 70-300mm STD f4.5-6.3G ED Zoom.Inspiration
Always wanted to try a close-up, front on shot of a male lion. Plus it was a perfect shot for my tattoo, which was in process at the time.Editing
No not really, turned out perfectly. The only post processing was a little bit of sharpening, that's about it.In my camera bag
I currently have my Nikon 3300, Nikon AF-P 70-300mm STD f4.5-6.3G ED Zoom, Nikon AF-S 18-140mm f3.5-5.6 G ED VR, Nikon AF Nikkor 50mm f/1.8D Lens, tripod, lens caps etc. I am looking to grow my lens collection in the near future.Feedback
Play around with your settings first, before attempting a similar shot. Make sure the subject is a good distance away, so you don't get glare, reflections of the glass. With new products now available, such as silicon lens hoods anyone should be able to recreate this image.
