Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was taken on a back road between two small towns in Vermont, a road that goes up and over hills and through the woods, and eventually connects to the road I live on. On most days I take the regular roads to work and back; however, on this day I decided to take the back road on my way home and I was so grateful that I did! The road displayed the beauty of an Autumn day in Vermont!

Time

This is my favorite Autumn photo because it shows so many colors in one shot and it is a good example of Vermont back roads. I took this photo in the afternoon on my way home from work. I actually left work early due to a bad headache and took the back road because I knew I could drive slower than on the main road, plus I thought the scenery might help me feel better. The scenery was so spectacular that my headache disappeared!

Lighting

A lot of the scenery was in the woods so it was sometimes hard to get a good light for the pictures. This photo was a mixture of shade and sunlight which worked in my favor and made an extraordinary photo!

Equipment

This was shot with my trusty Panasonic DMC-ZS19, Aperture 54/10, ISO 400, Shutter 10/250, Focal Length 218/10. No special equipment was used.

Inspiration

This photo showed a typical narrow dirt road in Vermont, curving around through the woods and going up and down a hill, while at the same time showing the beautiful colors of an Autumn day out in the country.
