I had adapted a G.Zuiko lens I inherited from my uncle to my Canon 5D Mark II. On this trip to Iceland I had heard so many stories of people going and never seeing the lights. I was still up from the flight that morning which arrived at 4 AM. When I realized the lights were on at 10 PM I headed north out of Reykjavic towards the entrance to Thingvellur National Park and found an F-road up the side of a mountain. Here, using my adapted f-1.4 prime I captured this scene. The light beam to the left is from Imagine Peace Tower, the John Lennon memorial in Reykjavic.
