Behind The Lens

Location

It was taken in a hotel room with a external closet (storage). To my surprise, the model were able to fit inside!

Time

It was taken during morning before it was time to checked out from hotel room which is 12pm. I was taken this shot around 10:24am on April 30th, 2017. The shoot was complete around before 11am. I know it was short period of time but totally worth it!

Lighting

It was two Godox V850 speedlights grouped up with a flash bracket on a single light stand and a 7 foot extreme silver parabolic umbrella by PCB facing outside from the external external closet.

Equipment

It was taken handheld with the Fujifilm X-T1 with Contax Yashica ML 50mm f/1.9 with Speedbooster. Two Godox V850 speedlights with 7 ft. PLM w/ white diffuser by PCB. Yes, I had to manual focus.

Inspiration

The concept of the photo was to do the vintage boudoir photoshoot and it was probably my first time giving a lingerie pin-up girl style a try.

Editing

Sort of. It was wasn't much. This what I loved about Fujifilm cameras, the color science make it easier for me to do very less processing. I always believed in doing everything right in camera.

In my camera bag

Mostly Fujiflm cameras with vintage lenses and Godox lighting system.

Feedback

Before planning on taking boudoir or lingerie shoot. Communicate with the model or subject on how you wanted to achieve. Always plan everything including storyboard, clothing, location, color, lighting technique, styles, proper gear and so on. When everything get set and ready by planned carefully, it will end very smoothly and successfully! I can promise you that! Without any of it, it will end with difficulty. Try not to reply too much on technology and post processing.
