Location
This was taken from my bedroom window during a wild thunderstorm. I took about 40 photos over the course of 35min. I then took the best 17 photos and stacked them.Time
It was around 10pm when I got out of the shower and saw lightning flashes coming from my bedroom window. I grabbed my tripod and camera and set it up to see if I could get a shot.Lighting
I was so afraid that I wouldn't be able to get a good exposure since I was doing a long exposure for the lightning and my foreground was traffic and street lights. I was debating on just getting dressed and driving to a park that was darker. But really wanted to challenge myself to get this shot in these conditions.Equipment
This was shot on my Nikon D850 with an Irix 15mm f/2.4 lens, using a ProMaster carbon fiber tripod.I also used a ProMaster shutter releaseInspiration
Lightning!Editing
I only did a little exposure matching with the selected images in Lightroom and stacked them in Photoshop. In my camera bag
I have my Nikon D850, My Irix 15mm f/2.4 Firefly, Nikon 105mm f2.8 Macro, Nikon 24-70mm f/2.8, and my big boy Nikon 200-500mm f/5.6.Feedback
Always take a couple test shots and always check your histogram. Some lighting conditions change by the minute.
