During their annual migration, European Starlings fly from Arctic tundra to warmer Mediterranean climes for the winter. Mid way, they stop at the marsh land in southern Denmark, to fatten up on mosquito larvae. Each evening sees flocks of birds, reminiscent of mid-90s screensavers, unite to form the 'black sun' as they descend to roost in the reeds overnight.
