Location
This shot was taken at Bentley Wildfowl and motor museum in SussexTime
This shot was taken early afternoon, it was our third lap of the site, I had noticed the flock of ducks asleep on our previous two circuits, this time I noticed they were waking up and managed to get this lovely shot.Lighting
This shot was taken with natural lighting onlyEquipment
My camera is the Nikon 5200, I had my Nikon 70-300 zoom. As this is quite a large lens and natural light was variable I always set the ISO to 400 and work through the settings to make sure I can keep a good depth of field.Inspiration
I was trying to get a set of every species they have, been several times, still not got them all yet, so more visits to come!Editing
I only used the normal Nikon post processing to sharpen the image, then softened it a bit to smooth out any graining,In my camera bag
My kit bag changes depending on where I'm heading, but aside from my camera and 70-300 lens, I'll normally carry a notebook and pencil, spare batteries (fully charged), spare memory card (empty) and usually my 28mm and 40 mm lenses, as well as a remote speedlight and trigger.Feedback
As stated, I knew the birds were there, it was just patience and multiple visits on the day to get them awake, so always be alive to the possibility that animals can wake up, or move to better situations, so be prepared to go back several times.
