Absolutely stunning. I enjoy capturing flowers and seeing them from other photographers' perspectives. Well done.

Location
This stunning flower was seen in a garden along the road from me, I'd just finished photographing the gulls on the beach and was heading home, just shows the importance of always being on the look out for good shots.Time
As you can tell from the lighting, this was taken at just after midday on a blisteringly hot spring day.Lighting
Fully natural light only, I've found that when taking plants shots in this style then a high sun produces the best light to enhance the colours, lower sun (mornings and evenings) can produce more dramatic effects.Equipment
This was shot with my standard set up, Nikon D5200 and my Sigma 70-300 which has macro capabilities, so is perfect for flight shots of gulls, then switching to butterflies and flowers, without the need to take several lenses.Inspiration
I often see flowers that from a distance can look really stunning but when you get close you start to notice lots of flaws, these flowers looked pristine. In what proved to be great timing, the day later we had a rather impressive storm that trashed them, so if I hadn't had got them when I did there was no second chance.Editing
Don't do much post-processing with my nature shots, just a little sharpening, de-noising and add a little contrast. In my camera bag
My general camera bag kit is D5200, my 70-300 plus either a 28 or 40mm prime. Also I have a speedlight in the bag that I can use generally as a fill on bright days. I also always have spare batteries, notebook and pencil.Feedback
Always be aware of what's about, I was on my way home from shooting when I saw this, it would have been easy to say "got loads of shots, wont bother today!" but I was glad I didn't. I will often just go for a walk around the local area looking in gardens and on the verges if the weather is good.
