Duga-3 was one of two, Soviet over-the-horizon radar system and used as part of the Soviet anti-ballistic missile early-warning network. The system operated from July 1976 to December 1989. The unclaimed signal was a source for much speculation, giving rise to theories such as Soviet mind control and weather control experiments.
The site is within the 10km exclusion zone that still surrounds Chernobyl in Ukraine.
I took this shot in August of 2017 whilst on a trip to the town of Pripyat and Chernobyl.
