Behind The Lens

Location

There are quite a few lovely preserves where my camera and I hike on a regular basis.

Time

I generally start out just as the sun rises on these photo safari's and I'm done by noon. So this photo was probably taken, mid-morning

Lighting

Nature provided perfect lighting for this photo. I got lucky :)

Equipment

This photo was taken before I bought my camera so I used the camera on my cell phone!

Inspiration

As I hike through these preserves, I forever on the look out for things to take pictures of. I just snap away at whatever strikes my fancy. This pretty butterfly (or moth?) definitely caught my eye.

Editing

I cropped the photo a tiny bit.

In my camera bag

Well now I have a real camera. Nikkon 600 so obviously that's in the bag. Also extra battery and sim cards, lens cleaner, chapstick, and currently, a face mask.

Feedback

I suppose most everyone prefers to shoot in early morning or late afternoon light, me too, which is why I start out so early in the day. I never have a pre-conceived idea of what pictures I want to get when I set out on these hikes of mine, I just capture whatever speaks to me in that moment.
