This photo was taken in my studio in downtown Princeton, Indiana.Time
I forget the exact time of day, but we were using Alien Bee and White Lightning strobes with soft boxes and strip lightsLighting
I believe this was a one light shot, A White Lightning with a 6 foot octabox - gridded to keep the light off the back wall.Equipment
Canon EOS 5D Mkii - 24/70 lens with the red stripe. The aforementioned soft box and strobe were used as lighting.Inspiration
Jessica is a yoga aficionado that I have photographed on numerous times. The images are part of my Woman as Art project - www.womanasart.us I'm really looking to show the beauty of every woman in sculptural form.Editing
Photoshop and the NIK Suite for B&W conversion. Always shoot raw and I just use Adobe Bridge to keep track of things. In my camera bag
Dedicated Canon shooter. 3 bodies although the 5D is the most current (the rest are older and mainly serve as backup gear). 24-70 - 70-200 lenses. A nifty-50. And I keep a fisheye on a consumer grade 350D for some wedding work. Best tool in the bag ironically - the Pocketwizards. So reliable.Feedback
Be willing to 'feel' the light - and not pay so much attention to ratios and traditional angles. This light is way too far to the camera left for a traditional portrait but it adds so much more sculpting out at that angle.
