Our Lady of the Rocks is an islets in the Bay of Kotor, Montenegro. In reality, it was created by sinking old and seized ships loaded with rocks. On this ‘rock’ is a Catholic church, the Church of Our Lady of the Rocks. The legend, however, is a little more romantic and fantastical. Seamen returning after every voyage would laid a rock in the location of the little islet until there was an island. This legend is kept alive with the ongoing custom of throwing rocks into the water.
Montenegro is in Southeastern Europe. It’s on the Adriatic Sea bordered by Kosovo and Albania, Croatia to the west, Bosnia, and Serbia. It's become a popular vacation spot for Europeans and is often visited by cruise ships. Each village is carved out of the mountainside and often (usually) has only one narrow road by the coast. The crowds are such that, when the cruise ships, spill out their thousands of passengers into Kotor, the one road is called "Let Me Pass" for obvious reasons.

I love the laying of rocks tradition. Wonderful shot and I love the striking blue of the cupola.
