Built in 1913, the State Library of Victoria's magnificent octagonal domed reading room is six stories high and can house 32,000 books and 320 readers at its desks. When it was built, the enormous reinforced-concrete structure was the largest in the world. Known as the Domed Reading Room until it was refurbished and reopened in 2003, the building is an architectural feat.

Location
This photo was taken on a recent trip to Melbourne, Australia. This is the ceiling of the La Trobe Reading Room, which is located in the State Library of Victoria.Time
I took this in the early afternoon hours.Lighting
In order to get this angle I had to walk through all the people studying in the large room and get as close as possible to the center of the room to shoot upwards.Equipment
I used my trusty Canon 7D Mark II.Inspiration
I loved the clean lines and the soft glow of the overcast day through the glass ceiling.Editing
I did minimal post processing. I shoot in raw, so I adjusted the curves and exposure, but nothing much more than that.In my camera bag
It really depends on the trip. My Canon 7D Mark II is my go to camera with my Canon EF 18 135mm f/3.5?5.6 IS STM Lens. I also normally carry my Canon EF 100mm f/2.8 Macro USM Fixed Lens with me as well.Feedback
You can not get dead center in the La Trobe Reading Room as the middle of the room is blocked. Get as close as possible in order to get the most evenly distributed image possible.
