I really love Gullfoss waterfall for it’s grand power, for the crazy wash-off you get from the mass of water rushing down the canyon, and that uneasy feeling of the unknown when you trying to get a glimpse the canyon’s depth… but I never know how to photograph it. There are a few spots you can hit in hope of achieving the best result possible, but no matter how much you try, it probably won’t come out the way you imagined. It is just larger than you, it is like the whole Mother Earth - was there before you and will be there long after you’re gone. This quote by John Muir somehow summarizes what I feel when I stand next to this waterfall "This grand show is eternal. It is always sunrise somewhere; the dew is never all dried at once; a shower is forever falling; vapor is ever rising. Eternal sunrise, eternal sunset, eternal dawn and gloaming, on sea and continents and islands, each in its turn, as the round earth rolls." ... and isn’t that wonderful?
