Behind The Lens

Location

This Covered Bridge spans Bledsoe Creek south of Westmoreland, Sumner County, Tennessee

Time

I composed and took this image just before 6pm in the evening in February.

Lighting

Late evening shadows were harsh, however, light coming in from the side was reflecting and illuminating the inside of the structure to some degree.

Equipment

A Olympus E-5 mounted on a Manfrotto 190Pro tripod, and fitted with a 14-54 Olympus Zuiko lens set about 14mm captured the image. ISO was 125, exposed for 1/20 sec at f/22.

Inspiration

I love capturing images of structures, both primitive and modern and in all states of repair.

Editing

Post processing was a matter of removing a few small pieces of trash, softening the shadows and beefing up the color a bit. A slight dramatization filter was also used.

In my camera bag

I am currently working only with Olympus cameras and will sometimes have two to three bodies with me as well as a good assortment of Zuiko lens's.

Feedback

I was traveling when I capture this image, but if I had set out to take this image specifically, I would have chosen a bright overcast day, or very early morning or late evening light on a clear day.
