Great capture and creativity! Congratulations on being a finalist. I meant to give you a “magnificent capture” peer award! I do think this is one of the best in the contest, hands down!

Location
This was taken in a Studio I regularly use near my home.Time
In a studio so not important in this caseLighting
This was lit by 3 studio lights . 2 Strip lights gridded slightly behind the model to the left and right. Another light was in front above my head a large softbox to give the top light effect. The lamp attached to the back was a small torch and then given a boast in Photoshop.Equipment
Sony A7Riii , Sony 24-105 F4 Lens. Tripod yes. Studio lights explained in the previous answer. This was actually the first time I used the Sony A7Riii as I had only bought it 4 days earlier. Also a smoke Machine.Inspiration
This was all about my family and my wife's family heritage. I was training by the Coal Board in the UK not a miner as such but in the coal industry. The Tools are my tools from that time in the early 70's. But the main inspiration was the lamp this belonged to my wife's Grandfather down the mines of Durham before the first world war in fact all the marks in the lamp and the battered cap are real from the mines. So this image and a series of images that day are really special to me. Big thanks to Pip the model who was perfect for this shot.Editing
As with all my images contrast and minor changes were made in Lightroom , then into photoshop for the increase of power to the lamp and minor background cleaning. Then finally converted to Black and White with Silver Efex Pro.In my camera bag
I have since the date of this shot been slowly changing to Sony. So this process is on going.Feedback
If you have something that is real in your life then use it as inspiration. All the best images are when you but a little of yourself into the creation.
