Behind The Lens

Location

It was shot in an apartment in Newcastle with only natural light

Time

Middle of the afternoon in April. The day was overcast but dry leading to a beautiful soft light

Lighting

All daylight. No fill in flash or reflectors required.

Equipment

D800 with a 50mm1.8 lens. It’s very rare that I use it for portraits which is probably my mistake but when the result is this I have to wonder why I don’t use it more often.

Inspiration

The square window and the models willingness to sit ther and throw killer pose after killer pose

Editing

Very little. I tweaked the colour temp down a bit, adjusted the exposure and contrast a bit. Turned it in a square crop of course but that was it Oh and sharpening of course

In my camera bag

D800 with 24-85. 70-200 and a 50mm. 2 flashguns and triggers

Feedback

Experiment! Talk with the model - they know what works for them. Have fun with it.
