The Auckland Harbour Bridge is an eight-lane box truss motorway bridge over the Waitematā Harbour in Auckland, New Zealand. The bridge recently received a $10 million facelift by way of a new lighting system.
Every visible beam, arch, pile, girder, strut and pylon has been covered in about 90,000 individually controlled colour-changing LED pixels, and an additional 100 spotlights.
The bridge can now be illuminated in infinite different ways for special events, then revert back to a default mode, and the whole system is powered by solar energy.
