This photo was taken in Windsor Ontario, the view is, of course of Detroit's beautiful skyline, prominently featuring the GM Ren Cen. It's one of those views that can change drastically depending on weather and time of day. I've taken this type of photo probably hundreds of times, it just never gets old.Time
This was taken after sunset, probably around 9pm. I love nighttime shots, places take on a whole other look at night.Lighting
I've been asked numerous times what that blob of light is at the top of the middle tower. That's actually a screen, that usually runs ads. A lot of people never realized it had this.Equipment
Sony A7R2 with a canon 17-40mm mounted on a manfrotto befree carbon fiber tripod.Inspiration
This is a view that you can actually see in certain places around the city, not just at the river. It's something I see while driving and it just makes me happy. You can actually make out the GM Ren Cen from our highway!Editing
Yes, cleaned up the exposure, added some clarity. Nothing crazy, usually its all done through camera raw.In my camera bag
It's a very bare setup, mostly because I like shooting light, but also, like...Money...My setup is a Sony a7r2 ,canon 17-40, manfrotto befree carbon fiber tripod, a canon remote, batteries(lots) sd card, a prop or two. The bag changes a lot because I've never been quite satisfied with camera bags. They are almost always messenger style. Currently testing out the Peak Design 6L bag.Feedback
Scout the location out, know what you need to achieve the shot and have fun trying!
