I took this photo on a workshop dedicated to wild animals, so every photo has some wilderness in it, although animals are saved from various places and are living in captivityTime
As this workshop was all-day activity, I don't quite remember the exact time, but it was before noon. It did not matter much though, as weather was really rainy all day long and shooting was in the forest. Given the fact that the wolf cub is really fast animal, I had to use fast lens with fast shutter speed and so also higher ISOLighting
The light was beautiful and soft, but I could use a little more intensive light as it was overcast with rain whole day, so it really was quite dark, even more as shooting took place in a really dense forestEquipment
I used my trusty Canon 70D with Canon EF 85mm f/1.8 USM, nothing else as I try to be as mobile as possible all the timeInspiration
This wolf cub was really friendly and playful with everyone that participated and wanted to be pet. So as we saw him going and jumping around, we tried also placing him on a small cliff to shoot some dynamic photos. Everything went according to plan and he jumped right towards me and continued to play. And so my dream of shooting wolf with some dynamic aspects became true.Editing
Post-processing here was just really simple, no special retouching, no photoshop edits, only color grading and some small enhancements to make the wolf more prominent and for him to popIn my camera bag
In my bag, I usually have my trusty Canon 70D together with 3 Canon lenses, 18-135 f/3.5-5.6, 50 f/1.4 and 85 1.8. Next thing I keep in my bag are some filters, specifically ND and CPL filter and second, film cameraFeedback
As shooting photos like these is extremely hard in the wild nature, I would actually advice to attend this kind of workshop, where you can choose the animal and everything is in controlled environment, so you can have beautiful photos of beautiful animals with a beautiful scenery. So try to check if there is someone making this kind of activity somewhere near you and you'll see!
