The photo was taken in my garden from a plant I had transplanted a few months before. Never before had I had so many roses on it than this year.Time
The photo was taken in mid morning when the sun was strong enough in Autumn to give good light but not overpower it.Lighting
I wanted the lighting to be strong enough bringing out the details of the petals and stem but not harsh.Equipment
This was shot on a Nikon D5600 using a Tamron 18-400mm at 40mm 8.1 aperture.Inspiration
The flowers in my garden always draw me to them and this late bloomer was not exception. After it seemed that it would rest for late Autumn-winter, another bud starting opening.Editing
All I wanted to do in post processing was get the balance of light right and soften the grass behind itIn my camera bag
I like to keep things simple and easy to carry so all I usually have is my Nikon D5600 and Tamron lens 18-400mm all ready for quick shots of birds.Feedback
Always try to get a shot of something at eye level so in the case of flowers get down low and try to get an angle where nothing else distracting is in the shot.
