Location
This shot was taken up at the coast, in Jervis Bay, Australia. This photo taught me that new perspectives are key to create an amazing photo. Being a self taught photographer, learning new skills and perspectives, like this, is very exciting for me!Time
This photo was taken when I was walking along the beach with my friends, we walked and talked for about an hour or two before I saw the amazing view. The time this photo was taken, was at 9:38am on March 31st. Down at the beach, there are so many amazing views at anytime of day. So anything I spotted that looked awesome, I took a photo of. But this imaged happened to be my favourite!Lighting
When I took this photo, I wasn't worried about lighting. In fact I never knew the blur was going to be in the picture. But the lighting in my picture is more warm toned, with the yellow sky making a key statement to the make the rest of the image stand out. The day was definitely more "foggy" and "grey" which I think is the best time to take photo's, as for me, I don't like to edit my photos. So if I ever want to make the image brighter, the greyness / Dim lighting on a photo would make it easier for me edit and create my perfect image.Equipment
The Camera I used was on My iPhone 7+ with the 'Portrait' setting. No flash, lens or tripod was used, just me and my clumsy hands.Inspiration
The beach inspires me in many ways. But what inspired me to take this image was the boat in the background of my image. The boat was to far away when I tried to take a normal photo, but 'Portrait mode' made the boat look bigger and more zoomed in without the picture looking grainy. The waves crashing and flooding over the rocks put more depth and colour into the image. Angles in photos inspire me the most. The angle of the photo tells me if it would make a great image.Editing
No I didn't do any processing for my photo, but hopefully I will learn how to do that next year! One elective at our school is photography, so I am excited to learn how to process film and use the dark room!In my camera bag
What I pack in my bag is pretty simple. I have my phone, food, maybe a handball to play with and chuck around, and also water. My phone is my only camera! But as I don't own a fancy, amazing camera. I make sure what I pack is simple!Feedback
I would say, if you are trying to capture a photo similar. Go for a walk and look for things in the ocean that inspire you. Sit down by some rocks and play with the angles of your photo, and even the settings and the lenses on your camera. I also think a natural (non-edited) photo is the best photo! But always remember, don't try to capture something exactly the same, because your photo is something unique and special, that no one else can ever re-create!
